THE KUSTO TEAM EARNS ABROAD AND INVESTS IN KAZAKHSTAN
Our first business was export-oriented; there was an opportunity to see other countries, and there were some industries there that could become a point of growth with the application of our competencies and resources. But, in addition, in a broad sense, we are the first generation of entrepreneurs in Kazakhstan, because capitalism here is only 25 years old.

The plan is to increase KazBeef by 10 times in two or three years
Kusto became the majority investor in the KazBeef livestock company, once a pilot project of KazAgro but later privatized. The former owners remained in the business as junior partners. USD 15 million will be invested at the first stage.
“When we arrived, there were assets, in fact, equal to the liabilities, but there was also experience and competence accumulated over seven years. Everything was done correctly; it was only necessary to reach the volumes, but there was not enough money,” the businessman Yerkin Tatishev explains.
Then, by copying the experience of KazBeef (there are already partners in other regions who are ready to implement the model at home), the task is to increase production to 100 thousand tons of meat per annum.
